Pastor Sam Belisle has committed his life to serving, helping, and ministering to Christian believers and those who are still seeking. Pastor Sam is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, Cleveland, TN. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies from Lee University and a Master's Degree in Biblical Studies from the Masters Graduate School of Divinity, an affiliate of Trinity University. Pastor Sam has been serving in full-time ministry since 1976 and began his career in Youth Ministry. Since then he has worked in a several different ministerial positions including Christian Education and Associate Pastor leading to his call to Penn Forest Church of God in 1995. Under his leadership, the church has experienced growth in membership and every area of ministry. This growth has necessitate the expansion of staffing, construction of additional classrooms and an office complex, and two parking lot additions. Pastor Sam is married to Susan and the father of two children, Josh and Jennifer. Susan serves as the Christian Education Director while providing ministry support in a number of other areas. Pastor Sam and Susan's desire is to win the lost to Christ, help God's children develop strong, healthy relationships, and to use their God-given abilities to positively impact our community and the world. Susan has served as the Christian Education Pastor at Penn Forest since 2003. She enjoys serving in this capacity and also supporting Pastor Sam in various areas of ministry. In particular, she has a heart for women’s ministries. Prior to marrying Pastor Sam and coming to Penn Forest, Susan attended Covenant Church in Charlottesville, VA where she was involved in many areas of ministry such as music and teaching during her 16 years of attendance there. Susan grew up in Uniontown, PA and attended Lee University in Cleveland, TN where she received a Bachelor’s degree. She later earned a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from The George Washington University. Her professional work experience includes seventeen years of experience in management, human resources, and training & development. Since moving to Roanoke she has worked as an independent training consultant in addition to her church work. Susan’s passion is to help people achieve their God-given potential so they will experience an abundant life and have a powerful impact upon the world in which we live.
Terry Kemp has been the Children’s Pastor and Director of Children’s Ministries at Penn Forest since August of 1998. He is also the Director of the “Royal Ambassadors” Boys Clubs. Recently, Terry served as Christian Education Director from 1998 to 2004. During his tenure as Children’s Pastor, the Children’s Ministry Department has grown tremendously and is a leading and active part of the church body. Each year, several major children’s events are conducted, including a community wide Easter Egg Hunt and Music & Drama Camp, as well as a Children’s Christmas Musical. He conducts ministry training classes in the spring of each year to develop new leaders for Children’s Ministry for involvement in “The Power Factory” Children’s Worship Services each Sunday morning. Terry is a member of the Church of God National Children’s Leaders Association and a member of the Virginia Children’s Leaders Board. He is a recipient of the 2005 International “Shepard’s Cup” award, the highest honor given by the Church of God for lifetime achievement in children’s ministry. He is the President and Co-Founder of “The Sonshine Company” (thesonshinecompany@cox.net) Clown Ministry & Entertainment Team, conducting Children’s Crusades and speaking at Youth Camps & Training Seminars throughout the year. “Chuckles” is his name and his character is that of a totally nitwit & fun loving Clown. He is a 1987 Graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University with a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in History. He is currently participating in the Church of God’s Children’s Minister Certification Program. Terry has been involved in Children’s Ministry for over twenty-eight years, beginning as a puppeteer and eventually serving as Children’s Church Director, Youth & Children’s Minister, Sunday School Teacher, and Elder in his church. Terry is married to his lovely wife Tammy S. Kemp, his partner in Children’s Ministry and Director of the Children’s Choir and music programs. They have two beautiful children, Zachary and Hannah.
![]() Kevin Wilson joined the ministry team at Penn Forest as Worship Pastor in August 2006. Kevin and his wife, Julie, have been married for 13 years and are the proud parents of one son, Jaedyn. Kevin and Julie graduated from the Ministerial Internship Program and have been in fulltime ministry since 1996, serving as Music Ministers & Youth Pastors in Pennsylvania & Southern Ohio. Julie graduated from Evangel University, formerly worked as a caseworker, before devoting herself to offering ministry support to Kevin and being a stay at home mom. Kevin has served on Youth Music Boards on the community state level. Additionally, Kevin and Julie have used their ministry gifts to lead at the state level in Youth Camps, Camp Meetings, Prayer Conferences, Revivals, Men's Retreats, and Women's Conferences. Kevin has also coached Drama, leading several teams to win State Teen Talent & advance to the National Competition. Kevin and Julie are passionate about worship. Understanding that we were created to worship, they desire to utilize their musical gifts, and those of the team they work with, to magnify their Creator. Kevin and Julie's ambition is to be gatekeepers- (Psalm 84:10)- propping open the gates of heaven to let the Glory of God be seen on earth as a result of pure, uninhibited, passionate and free praise & worship. Kevin and Julie believe in team ministry & are gifted in training developing musicians, vocalists, & other leaders. Kevin leads praise and worship and directs the adult choir. Julie plays the piano and serves as a vocalist on the praise team. They are also the directors of Penn Forest's Young Adult Ministry.
